FAQ

Straight answers from the family that cuts your blanks. Don't see your question? Email order@borowood.com.

Should I buy 1/4" or 1/2" thick?

1/4-inch is the door hanger standard — light enough to hang from a wreath hanger or ribbon, stiff enough to stay flat on a closing door. 1/2-inch is for porch leaners, easel signs, and statement pieces that get handled a lot; it also takes deeper laser engraving. When in doubt for door hangers: 1/4".

Are the blanks really ready to paint out of the box?

Yes. Every round is CNC-cut (no burn marks) and sanded smooth on both faces. Wipe with a dry cloth, prime or base-coat, and go. No pre-sanding needed — that's the whole point.

How fast do orders ship?

Orders process within 4-5 business days — most of our packs are pre-packed before you even order. We ship from Statesboro, Georgia via USPS Priority Mail or UPS. Free shipping on orders $250+; flat $9 under that. Full details on our Shipping page.

Why did my order arrive in multiple boxes?

Larger orders ship in multiple boxes 📦 that can arrive a day or two apart. If a box seems missing, give it 48 hours before emailing — it's almost always right behind the first one.

Birch plywood vs. MDF — which should I get?

Birch for anything on a door, porch, or outdoors — it's real cross-laminated wood that stays flat and survives weather. MDF for indoor decor where a perfectly smooth face matters and budget is tight. Full breakdown in our comparison guide.

What are the Daily Bundles?

Seven rounds-only bundle deals — one for every day of the week, from a $29 sampler box to a $125 ten-pack of premium 1/2" rounds. Each bundle is priced below buying the same rounds separately, and today's bundle is always pinned to the top of the Deals of the Day collection. Circles only — that's the rule.

Can I laser or CNC engrave your blanks?

Absolutely — birch engraves with beautiful contrast, and because our rounds ship without burn marks, your engraving is the first mark on the wood. Both thicknesses work; 1/2" allows deeper cuts.

Do you sell outdoor-safe blanks?

Our birch plywood handles outdoor life well once sealed. Seal all faces and edges with a UV-resistant clear coat — edges drink moisture first. Unsealed wood outdoors will eventually weather, whatever the species.

Do you do wholesale or bulk pricing?

Yes — no applications, no minimums paperwork. Bulk tiers are right on the site (up to 200-packs, down to $4.50/round), and every order $250+ ships free. Custom quantities and standing monthly orders: Wholesale page or order@borowood.com.

What's the One Tree Planted program?

Every order over $50 plants a tree — we donate one tree to reforestation for each qualifying order, every month. No extra cost, no checkbox. Read how it works.

Can I get a custom shape or size?

We cut custom shapes and quantities all the time — email order@borowood.com with your shape, size, thickness, and quantity, and you'll hear back from the person who'd actually cut it. You can also book a call with Hunter.

What's your return policy?
